PayCrunch · privacy policy · analytics and advertising are disclosed here

Privacy policy

PayCrunch publishes this policy for paycrunch.co. The publisher is Matt, at 4438 Ingraham St, PMB 216, San Diego, CA 92109. Operational mail is matt@paycrunch.co. Privacy requests can also go to privacy@paycrunch.co.

Calculators run in your browser. The pay and tax numbers you type are not sent to PayCrunch servers. The site does use Google Analytics and loads the Google AdSense script. That is not “100% private,” and pages no longer say that.

Information you give us

If you join the Career Intelligence briefing, we collect the email address you submit. Signups use a confirmation email (double opt-in) and are stored with our email provider, Resend. We use the address to send the briefing you asked for. We do not sell the list. You can unsubscribe from any message, or ask us to delete the address.

If you email us, we keep that correspondence so we can reply. We typically reply within two business days.

Google Analytics

Pages load Google Analytics 4 through gtag.js, measurement ID G-DZJGNJ4ZL9. Google Analytics sets cookies. Google’s own documentation describes _ga as lasting 2 years and _gid as lasting 24 hours. The tag records pages visited, referring sites, approximate location derived from IP address, and device and browser data. We do not keep a separate copy of that hit stream on PayCrunch servers. Retention of the Analytics property is the setting inside Google Analytics.

Google’s description of these cookies is at developers.google.com/analytics cookie usage. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

Advertising and Google AdSense

The site is enrolled with Google AdSense as publisher ca-pub-4897630241601050. Pages load pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js so Google can recognize the publisher. Advertising units are not currently filled. Empty advertisement boxes are hidden, so you should not see a blank “Advertisement” slot.

When units are later allowed to serve, Google may use cookies and similar technologies, including cookies associated with doubleclick.net, to serve and measure ads. If personalized advertising is on, those ads can be based on your prior visits to this site or other sites. We do not set a separate advertising cookie of our own. Cookie lifetimes for Google’s advertising cookies are the ones Google publishes, not a number we invent here.

You can control personalized ads at Google Ads Settings. Industry opt-out pages are optout.aboutads.info (Digital Advertising Alliance) and optout.networkadvertising.org (Network Advertising Initiative). How Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Advertising technologies: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

PayCrunch does not currently run a certified consent-management platform. The short notice at the bottom of a page links here and can be dismissed. Dismissing it stores a flag in this browser’s localStorage under the key pc-privacy-note. That flag is not a tracking cookie, and dismissing the notice does not stop Analytics or the AdSense script from loading. Visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland should not be served personalized ads until a certified consent tool is in place. That is a publisher task, not something this notice pretends to finish.

Affiliate links

Some job pages link to Amazon through the Amazon Associates program. If you follow one of those links, Amazon may set its own cookies and may pay PayCrunch a commission. Those links are disclosed on the page and in the editorial policy. We do not receive your Amazon account details.

What we do not collect

California notice

The publisher is in California. In the preceding 12 months we have collected, through the tools above: identifiers (an email address, if you subscribe or write to us), internet activity (pages and referrers, via Google Analytics), and approximate geolocation (via Google, from IP address). We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising of our own. Google’s tags can process data for Google’s own advertising and measurement; that processing is described in Google’s policy, linked above.

You can ask us to know, delete, or correct personal information we hold (the email list and correspondence). Email privacy@paycrunch.co or matt@paycrunch.co. An authorized agent may email the same addresses. We will not deny you the site because you asked. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the site is not directed at them.

Changes

The date at the top is the date of the latest change to this page. Continued use of the site after a change is how the updated policy applies.
